   Adults in the Martial Arts
One of the most profound and wonderful things about being a martial arts teacher is the ability to effect positive change in the lives of the youth of our community, but I have to wonder where have the adults gone... There was a time in this country when you couldn't throw a stick and keep from hitting a martial arts school with a strong adult population. That has changed, martial arts in many way's unfortunately is viewed as a predominately children s activity., with nothing to offer anyone over the age of 12. Martial arts as a whole is a tremendous tool for self-actualization as Sijo Bruce Lee would say, Where else can you get in shape, learn practical self-defense skills, learn an appreciation and respect for different cultures and make friends and be part of something beyond just yourself. Martial arts may not be the path for everyone nor should it be, but for those who want a challenge and something beyond the ordinary. please check out your local Martial Arts school, You won't be disappointed.

Yours in the arts

   importance of regular attendance
All students should think about what their goal are in the martial arts. Do you want to lose weight or get in better shape? Well you can't do that coming to classes only 2 times a month. Do you want to learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones? Well you can't do that coming to class only when you feel like it. I think you are starting to get the point, to make progress in anything one most have consistency in what they do. There will be periods where your training plateaus, that is a normal part of the process, it happens to everyone. There are times when you may want to quit, That also happens to anyone who sticks to an activity for a period of time. Consistent practice over time is how great skill is developed in any endeavor. Work toward coming 2x a week, and practice at home you'll be amazed with the results!!
